Zigma Ground Solutions — a United Kingdom supplier of temporary access and ground protection products — has introduced its mats to the United States

TuffTrak and SureTrak are manufactured in the United States by a major international plastics manufacturer utilizing sustainable, eco-friendly, premium recycled materials. The mats are available exclusively from New South Equipment Mats, which has offices and sales teams located around the United States.

“At Zigma, we are dedicated to manufacturing our mats in the USA to meet the needs of U.S. businesses,” said Steve Delaney, director of sales of the U.S. market. “We are committed to a 5-year growth plan that will bring employment to U.S. workers as well as significant financial investment to the country. Zigma sees the USA as a key market for our future development, and with the help of New South Equipment Mats, we are pleased to bring our ’fast and safe way forward’ to the U.S. temporary access market.”

The TuffTrak and SureTrak have been developed specifically for the American market to deliver maximum performance and safety, yet are simple to install and can be quickly deployed. With their chevron design and surface profile, the mats deliver ultimate grip and dispel mud to maintain vehicle traction in even the worst conditions, according to the manufacturer.

The TuffTrak heavy-duty road mat is manufactured from premium recycled HD or UHMW (ultra high molecular weight) polyethylene, and provides temporary roadways and access for plant machinery and vehicles up to 336,000 lbs. (152,407 kg). Unlike aluminium road mats, it can be deployed in areas of high theft risk; and, being chemically inert, does not leach pollutants so is ideal for eco-sensitive sites.

With its unique nub design, the TuffTrak reduces sideway slippage and delivers optimal forward traction for heavy equipment and vehicles. TuffTrak also is reversible and has a non-slip, non-trip pedestrian surface for outdoor events. With a wide range of connectors, including high tensile straps, connecting these mats is simple and fast, providing increased safety and maximum performance.

The SureTrak is ideal for protection and access over soft or sensitive ground and also can be supplied in a 100 percent virgin high density polyethylene to provide extra protection for very sensitive environments or grounds affected by high temperatures. The mats are unbreakable up to 179,000 lbs. (81,193 kg) and made from a tough .5 in. (12 mm) thick high-density polyethylene, yet they weigh only 79 lbs. (35.8 kg) and have built-in handles that make handling and installation easy. Connection options also are available for more permanent situations, steep terrain and to handle very heavy and tracked equipment.

Zigma Ground Solutions was established in 2007.
