Winter storm Jonas brought heavy winds, flooding and snow across the mid-Atlantic region Jan. 22 to 24, 2016.

The Nor'easter broke records in many locations, including Allentown, Pa. — 31.9 in. (81 cm), New York's JFK Airport — 30 in. (76.2 cm) and Newark, N.J. — 27.9 in. (70.8 cm).

According to the National Weather Service, 17.8 in. (45.2 cm) was recorded at Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C.; 29.2 in. (74.2 cm) fell at Baltimore-Washington International Airport; Philadelphia International Airport saw 22.4 in. (56.9 cm); and 26.8 in. (68 cm) blanketed New York City's Central Park. Along the New Jersey coast, the storm caused flooding and beach erosion.

Road crews were on duty around the clock prepping roads ahead of the storm, and then clearing them during and after. Connecticut and New York sent personnel and equipment from lesser affected areas to Maryland and Washington, D.C., to help with clean up.
