Turner Construction Company was selected to build a $184 million Agriculture Research building for the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Ky. The building will contain laboratory teaching space, office space and a 250-seat auditorium.

Turner has worked on more than 20 projects for the University of Kentucky, including the Albert B. Chandler Hospital, whose original structure was completed in 2011 and has had ongoing interior fit-outs since; and the Health Education Building, which will be completed in 2026.

"We are thrilled to continue supporting the mission of the University of Kentucky," said Erin Mignano, vice president and general manager, Turner Construction Company. "The new Agriculture Research building will have a tremendous benefit for the students and what they will achieve in their careers. We look forward to continuing our relationship with the University of Kentucky and all our partners to bring this project to life."

"This project is a gateway project for the University providing a new facility for their agricultural research and student learning," said David Opalka, vice president and construction executive, Turner Construction Company. "Their existing facilities will be demolished as part of the upcoming $1.7 billion hospital expansion project. We appreciate the University selecting us for this particularly important project for both the University and UK Healthcare."

The 190,000-sq.-ft. building is expected to be completed in 2027.
