New York City’s WPIX11 is reporting that a new building under construction along the East River in Midtown has many scratching their heads.

At first glance it looks like your average work in progress in the city skyline but if you take a good look at it, it almost appears like it’s kind of leaning.

Many online noted that it was indeed “falling over.”

The building, located at 626 First Avenue, caught the eye of many this week with posts on Reddit sparking concern and hilarity.

“It looks like the taller building is trying to help his drunk building friend from falling over.” said one commenter.

Believe it or not -- that’s actually on purpose.

The development – which is designed by SHoP Arthitects – will ultimately be two curving, copper-clad residential towers that connect via skybridge.

The unique structure is being erected on a plot of land that was long considered an eye sore on the East side of Manhattan but when its completed it will house a ton of over-the-top luxuries including a snazzy rooftop deck with an infinity-edge pool.

The buildings are set to be completed by late 2016.
