The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) has been named a Top Workplace in Southeast Wisconsin for 2015 by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
“It is a tremendous honor to be included among this list of leading employers,” said AEM President Dennis Slater. “At AEM, we are committed to providing our members with quality service, expertise and support. This award is testament to the culture we have established and the fact that an engaged and happy team positively affects the quality of the work we do to build awareness of the policies and issues affecting equipment manufacturing.”
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel publishes the annual list of best places to work, based on employee surveys conducted by Workplace Dynamics, an independent research firm. The survey focuses on organizational mission and culture, in areas including company leadership, working environment, communication and career opportunities.
For more than a century, AEM has provided a manufacturer forum for industry-wide action for companies of all sizes, product lines and business focus.
AEM’s priority areas include:
• I Make America grassroots advocacy initiative that promotes pro-manufacturing policies and highlights how members and the industry are affected by public policy
• Trade show leadership with industry-run events that deliver the greatest ROI for attendees, exhibitors and other stakeholders; includes CONEXPO-CON/AGG, the world’s largest gathering place for the construction industries, and ICUEE-The Demo Expo, the largest event for the utility industry
• Market intelligence that includes industry trends data to help members better understand the marketplace to anticipate change and remain competitive; includes input to Agrievolution Alliance global tractor and business-barometer reports
• Promoting safe machine operation with more than 50 safety manuals and videos for agricultural, construction, forestry and utility equipment
AEM’s headquarters office is located in the former Allis-Chalmers agricultural equipment manufacturing complex in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. (And some staff have ties through relatives that worked there.) The office has won architectural acclaim for integrating historic building elements into a modern airy space, and a recent renovation included technology upgrades for staff to better connect with and serve members in the global marketplace.
