Contractors can remove roots, brush, rocks and other debris while leaving dirt behind with a smaller root grapple attachment — the new 66-in. (167 cm) model from Bobcat.
The new 66-in. root grapple attachment expands the line of Bobcat land-clearing attachments for loaders. It may be used with Bobcat skid-steer loaders (models S150 through S205) and Bobcat compact track loaders (models T140 through T190). Bobcat representatives said this attachment will be popular among rental stores because it fits a wide range of loaders and can be used for a variety of applications. In addition to the new 66-in. width, the Bobcat root grapple also is available in 72- and 82-in. (183 and 208 cm) widths.
The Bobcat root grapple attachment has the power to clear brush and overgrowth on construction and landscaping projects, or when natural disasters hit. The rugged, skeletal design of the attachment allows dirt to fall between the teeth, thus minimizing topsoil removal. This means lighter and fewer loads for operators to haul. The attachment’s curved bottom teeth also enable operators to scoop material without plunging the grapple into the ground.
The hydraulic-controlled grapple features the Bob-Tach mounting system, which allows operators to quickly change between attachments.
