Construction Equipment Guide

Compact Power Inc. recently introduced its newly redesigned Boxer 526DX.

The track-driven 526DX diesel unit is an update of the Boxer TD-327 model. It is ideal for the landscaping, rental and construction markets and a wide range of other industries and applications.

The 526DX offers an integrated track system that retracts from a fully extended 43.5 in. to a width of 35 in. (110 to 89 cm) and is controlled by a joystick lever on the control panel. The variable track design allows the operator to maneuver through tight areas, such as gates and sidewalks, then extend back to full width for increased stability while in operation.

The updated Boxer 526DX provides greater operating and tip capacities, offers a wider wheelbase for improved stability, better sight lines, longer reach, greater dump height and increased ground speeds. The operator station has also been updated and ergonomically redesigned to help reduce operator fatigue and increase ease of operation for a smoother ride, according to the manufacturer.

The 526DX offers an operating capacity of 1,050 lbs. (476 kg) 735 lbs. (333 kg) at 35 percent SAE standard. The tip capacity has been increased to 2,100 lbs. (953 kg), which is 400 lbs. (181 kg) more than the TD-327. With a hinge pin height of 77 in. (196 cm) and a dump height of 60 in. (152 cm), the 526DX can dump materials into vehicles.

The Boxer is powered by a 26.1hp Perkins liquid-cooled diesel engine. A two-pump, 3,000 psi hydraulic operating system develops 14.5 gpm (55 Lpm) of hydraulic flow to run the machine’s auxiliary and propulsion systems. Together, the engine and hydraulic system provide the Boxer with enough power to handle full size attachments like a 36 in. (91 cm) auger or 48 in. (122 cm) trencher.

The machine is built to handle a full complement of more than 50 universal compact utility attachments for a variety of industries. The Boxer’s standard quick attach system enables the user to quickly and easily switch from bucket to forks to auger or other tools, according to the manufacturer.

Trailer and Attachments

Compact Power now offers its ProHauler system trailer, designed and equipped to accommodate the Boxer 526DX and a package of standard attachments. The system trailers are 5-by-10-ft. (1.5 by 3 m) and come standard with: a 44 in. (112 cm) bucket; a leveler that doubles as a carryall; a 36-by-6-in. (91 by 15 cm) trencher; an auger power head with 9, 15, 18 and 30 in. (23, 38, 46 and 76 cm) auger bits; adjustable lifting forks; a tiller; and a multi-purpose tool that includes a scarifier. The trailer is equipped with storage areas for each attachment, comes standard with chains and binders to keep the attachments in place while in transit and includes a 2 in. (5 cm) coupler for towing.
