Butler Machinery Company celebrated the grand opening and ribbon cutting of its newest store in Huron, S.D., on June 27. The newly constructed store, located at 1715 Highway 14 West, represents Butler Machinery’s commitment to expanding construction and agricultural sales, parts and service to the central South Dakota area.

“The Huron store will further assist our efforts in providing service, parts and sales to current and future customers of the central South Dakota area.

“We are very happy to be here in Huron,” said Dan Butler, president, Butler Machinery.

Construction on Butler Machinery’s Huron location began in the fall of 2011 and concluded in May 2012. The 25,700 sq. ft. facility includes:

• A large parts warehouse

• T5 lighting throughout the shop and warehouse

• In-floor heat in the shop area, as well as heated sidewalks in the front of the building

• A 10,100 sq. ft. shop with four 30 by 43 ft. bays, each with 20 ft. doors (one bay doubles as a wash bay)

• A 46 by 60 ft. center bay runs the length of the shop with a 40 by 20 ft. bi-fold door at the north end

• 6 service bays

• 7.5-ton and 5-ton cranes covering all bays

• An administrative area containing offices for sales staff and management

• A large break room, training room and locker facility

• Pre-cast concrete construction

• 3,882+ Line items in parts stock

• 226,600 company-wide total parts line items in stock

The store currently employs 15 associates, and once fully-staffed, the facility will employ approximately 25 associates.
