Case Construction Equipment now offers pilot controls as standard equipment on its 440CT and 450CT compact track loaders and as an option on its 430, 440, 450 and 465 skid steer loaders.

Case pilot controls for skid steers and compact track loaders can be ordered from the factory with H or ISO patterns. Factory-supplied accessory kits also are available through Case dealers to permanently change the pattern from H to ISO or vice versa.

With the H pattern, which is familiar to experienced Case operators, the operator uses the left-hand control to operate the left drive motor as well as to raise and lower the loader arms. The right-hand controller is used to operate the right drive motor and the bucket curl and dump. The fact that the H pattern gives the operator independent control of the ground drives allows the operator to position the machine with greater precision. This is especially important when performing tasks such as fine grading.

With the ISO pattern, the drive functions are in the left controller and the loader arm/bucket functions are in the right controller. This allows for one-handed operation and is prevalent on many non-Case machines.

“Regardless of the control pattern selected, Case pilot controls require a shorter throw, which is more comfortable for the operator and less fatiguing. Anytime we increase operator comfort and convenience, we increase productivity,” said Jim Hughes, Case brand marketing manager.

“Many of our customers have asked for pilot controls because they find it easier for their operators — especially those who operate more than one type of equipment-to switch from one machine to another with greater commonality of controls.

“Operators who tested our pilot controls particularly appreciated the smoothness and responsiveness,” Hughes said.

In addition to the 440CT and 450CT, the Case compact track loader line includes the 420CT and the 445CT. The Case skid steer loader line includes the 410, 420, 435 and 445 as well as the 430, 440, 450 and 465.
