Construction Equipment Guide

Case Construction held its Partnership ShowCase event on July 18-19. The event highlighted the release of new equipment such as CX Series excavators, seven XT skid steer models, the 570M XT loader/tool carrier, the 621D wheel loader and the 960 ride-on trencher.

Guests were taken to MacDonald Machinery, a local Case dealer, for a tour of the dealership, product presentations and walkarounds and hands-on product operation.

The Case CX Series excavators include four models – the CX130, CX160, CX210 and CX240. These “thinking machines” are designed for easier operation, improved fuel efficiency and increased productivity.

The units range from 14.3 to 26.4 tons (13 to 24 t) and boast dig depths of 20 to 24.3 ft. (6.1 to 7.4 m). The CX210 and CX240 models also feature the new Case 6TAA-590 diesel engine that produces 163 hp (121.5 kW).

The CX Series replaces the manufacturers 9010B, 9020B, 9030B and 9040B model excavators.

The event also introduced three new XT skid steers – the 40XT, 60XT and 70XT – which join the 75XT, 85XT, 90XT and 95XT models. The XT line ranges from 60 to 85 hp (45 to 63 kW) with lifting capacities of 1,500 to 3,650 lb. (681 to 1,656 kg).

Case has increased the breakout force and lift capacity of its loader/tool carriers with the 570M XT. The unit is designed for work in the rental, building construction, road, utility, agriculture and landscaping applications and features a 93-in. (236 cm) bucket.

The 570M XT also features 3.25-in. (8.25 cm) diameter loader lift cylinders to boost breakout force by 19 percent and a 73-hp (54 kW) Case 4-390 naturally aspirated diesel engine.

The 570m XT Turbo model includes an 80-hp (60 kW) Case 4T-390 turbo-charged engine. An option of two-wheel or four-wheel drive configurations is available.

Case has expanded its D series wheel loader line with the 621D. The machine delivers 133 hp (100 kW), a breakout force of 20,951 lb. (9,503 kg) and a lift capacity of 23,634 lb. (10,720 kg).

The 621D also features the cube-shaped cooling system which provides increased performance in extreme conditions. The design prevents plugging and provides clean air to cool off engine components by eliminating stacked coolers.

The last piece of equipment introduced at the event was the 960 ride-on trencher, powered by a Case 4T-390 turbo-charged engine delivering 99.5 hp (74 kW).
