Case Construction Equipment has provided direct and indirect contributions totaling $5,000 to support home-building projects by Habitat for Humanity of San Antonio.

The company paid $1,000 to sponsor recent participation of more than 20 Construction Writers Association members in building a new home for Habitat for Humanity of San Antonio. Case also donated $4,000 directly to Habitat for Humanity to buy building materials for this and other home-building projects in San Antonio.

The sponsorship of the CWA event covered the costs of transporting participants to and from the home-building project, providing lunch and other refreshments, handling logistics and installing temporary facilities at the site.

The CWA’s first-ever Habitat for Humanity work project gave association members an opportunity to spend a half day on a community service project during the group’s two-day annual conference. CWA is a non-profit, non-partisan, international organization for journalists, writers, editors, public relations, marketing and communications professionals serving the information needs of the construction industry.

“Case is pleased to support both Habitat for Humanity and the Construction Writers Association,” said Ion Warner, senior director, marketing.

“Our company, employees and dealers have a long history of donating time and resources to Habitat for Humanity affiliates throughout North America. It’s gratifying to facilitate the construction writers’ Habitat project as they demonstrate their commitment to community service,” Warner said.

The San Antonio Habitat sponsorship and donation add to the financial support that Case and its dealers provided to Habitat for Humanity projects during the recently completed Case Triple Threat Rodeo program. Throughout the year, Case dealers hosted 55 rodeo events in which more than 1,500 competitors tested their equipment-operating skills for a chance to win prizes and qualify for the national Triple Threat Rodeo championship in January 2012 in Las Vegas. The events served as fundraisers for local Habitat for Humanity affiliates, raising more than $45,000.

Combined with earlier fund-raising programs, Case and its dealers have provided an aggregate total of approximately $250,000 in support to Habitat for Humanity affiliates throughout North America.
