Mike Chenet, president of Folcroft, PA’s CC&T, recently named Bill Barry as the company’s new vice president and general manager.

Prior to his promotion, Barry served as CC&T’s sales and marketing manager, a position he held since he began with the company in 1998.

Before joining CC&T, Barry had worked in sales for a heart rate monitor manufacturer … experience that Chenet believes still serves Barry well today.

“Bill [Barry] brings with him heavy international and U.S. sales experience, so his people skills are something you only get with that kind of exposure,” said Chenet. “The transition for him from medical sales to the construction industry happened very seamlessly. So Bill was able to adapt to this industry and really develop rapidly and has contributed very much to our success in the past six to eight years.”

Barry’s primary goal is to continue developing marketing and sales opportunities and to be more involved in the service and financial sides of the business.

“These are areas in which we need to perform well so that we can continue to be successful,” he said.

“This move accomplishes two things,” added Chenet, “one, it is an acknowledgement of Bill’s contribution to CC&T, and two, this will allow us to make room for growth, such as by increasing staff. And that’s where Bill’s expertise will really come into play because as we add people and get them trained, we’ll need Bill to ensure that this is done up to the standard that we expect here at CC&T.”

During his years with CC&T, Barry has come to admire customers in the construction industry.

“The customers are different from those in the medical field in that they ’walk the walk.’ A lot of the owners in the construction industry are the actual people out on the job and that makes them extremely savvy customers,” he said.

Chenet expressed enthusiasm for both Barry’s promotion and what he believes it will mean to CC&T.

“A lot of people in the areas that we serve know Bill, and I think they’ll be happy that Bill has accepted this move, and I think they’ll feel comfortable that CC&T is growing in the right direction,” he said.

CC&T represents Wirtgen America milling machines, Hamm vibratory compaction rollers, Etnyre distributor trucks, Midland road wideners and attachments and Vogele America asphalt pavers and serves customers in Delaware, New Jersey and southeastern Pennsylvania.

In addition to its Folcroft headquarters, CC&T has a branch in Piscataway, NJ.
