ConExpo-Con/AGG, the international exposition for the construction and construction materials industry, has earned honors as one of the 50 fastest growing trade shows for the success of ConExpo-Con/AGG 2002, held in March 2002 in Las Vegas, NV.
The 2002 ConExpo-Con/AGG recently received the “top 50” honor from Tradeshow Week, the weekly magazine covering the exposition industry. The magazine selected the winners based on the greatest percentage of exhibit space growth among all trade shows held in the United States and Canada. The triennial ConExpo-Con/AGG grew from 1.7 to 1.8 million sq. ft. between 1999 and 2002, and from 1,882 to 2,112 exhibitors.
The next ConExpo-Con/AGG will be held March 15 to 19, 2005, at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas.
Show management attributes the continued success of ConExpo-Con/AGG to several factors, including development of industry partnerships and inclusion of exhibitors and attendees in show planning.
“This honor could not have been achieved without the dedication and hard work of volunteer company executives who ensure the show is targeted to industry needs, and the support of allied organizations promoting the show to their memberships,” stated Peter Vlahos, show managing director. “They have helped ConExpo-Con/AGG become the construction and construction materials industry’s worldwide gathering place every three years.”
A key industry partnership cited by show management is the co-location of the International Exposition for Power Transmission (IFPE), beginning in 2002 and continuing for the 2005 show, which provides attendees and exhibitors with cost and time efficiencies as well as expanded opportunities for customer-contact and networking opportunities. Also contributing to the 2002 show’s success was the co-location of nine association conventions and more than 350 industry-related meetings.
Show management also noted a focus on customer service as instrumental in the growth of ConExpo-Con/AGG, including keeping costs low for exhibitors and attendees.
“For attendees, we offer a modest registration fee and services such as complementary shuttle busses between hotels and the show site,” stated Ken Snover, show managing director. “For exhibitors, we maintain low exhibit space rates and offer programs such as an exhibitor package plan, which bundles a number of exhibit-related services into the space rate, including general cleaning and freight handling.”
