Construction Equipment Guide

Education is a core element of the ConExpo-Con/AGG experience, and the 2008 show will offer a comprehensive education program that targets the business and personal development needs of contractors, business owners, construction materials producers, end-users and other industry professionals.

New for the 2008 ConExpo-Con/AGG, a special free program on best practices for small fleet management will be held the last day of the show. Continuing education credits (CEUs) will be available for all sessions. And additional seminar delivery methods using electronic technologies are planned to extend the show’s educational value to attendees.

Selected ConExpo-Con/AGG 2008 education modules will be conducted with simultaneous interpretation into Portuguese, Spanish and Russian. Industry organizations will administer certification and examination programs in conjunction with the ConExpo-Con/AGG education program for the convenience of show attendees.

ConExpo-Con/AGG 2008 will be held March 11 to 15, 2008, at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas and is co-located with the IFPE 2008 International Exposition for Power Transmission, which also will offer extensive education focused on power transmission and motion control technologies.

On the last day of the show, March 15 (Saturday), a special free program will provide practical solutions for the specific fleet management needs of small business owners specializing in commercial, industrial and public construction.

Topics will include budgeting and staffing, productivity, work scheduling, and monitoring usage and cost in an applications-specific environment. Attendees will receive take-home materials and have plenty of opportunity to have their fleet operations questions answered. The program will be led by John Dolce, a leading industry consultant with more than 30 years of experience in fleet management operations in the private and public sectors.

The ConExpo-Con/AGG education program will offer more than 120 sessions delivered by industry experts with a focus on industry trends, case studies and “how to” application techniques and strategies.

ConExpo-Con/AGG education sessions are divided into 10 program tracks to help attendees locate topics of most interest to them. The tracks include aggregates, asphalt, concrete, construction project management, earthmoving, environmental/recycling, equipment management, management, personal development and safety.

The program runs March 11, 2008, (Tuesday) through March 14, 2008, (Friday). Sessions are 90 minutes in length and include take-away materials.

Show management developed the education program with the assistance of leading construction, manufacturing and producer groups to ensure a well-rounded program of relevance to all industry segments.

Education session tickets are available singly or in packages of four or 12 session tickets. Attendees can register in advance online at the show’s Web site or via fax or mail using the form in the attendee registration brochure or downloaded from the show’s Web site.

Industry certification courses and exams that will be offered at ConExpo-Con/AGG 2008 include a Certified Equipment Manager Exam and Study Course of the Association of Equipment Management Professionals (AEMP) and Crane Operator Certification Examinations of the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO).
