Congressman Addresses Key Industry Issues During Visit to ASC in Buford, Ga.

Addressing the skilled worker shortage is a top priority to one Georgian legislature.

Rep. Rob Woodall (R-GA) visited ASC Construction Equipment in Buford, Ga., on Nov. 10.

Woodall is a member of the House Committee on Rules, the House Committee on Budget and the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure. According to the Associated Equipment Distributors (AED), which helped coordinate the congressman's visit to ASC, Woodall has a 100 percent voting record during the 114th Congress on the industry's top policy priorities.

These 2016 legislative priorities, according to AED, include:

• Addressing the skilled worker shortage;

• Investing in short-term and long-term surface transportation;

• Funding water infrastructure;

• Simplifying the tax code;

• Preventing regulatory overreach; and

• Expanding domestic energy production.

During his visit to ASC, Woodall toured the equipment dealer's facility and met with employees.

“Rep. Woodall's interest in our industry and our dealership were greatly appreciated,” said Jack Evans, general manager of ASC Georgia operations. “The insights he shared with us regarding the future of transportation in Georgia and workforce development issues are certainly encouraging, as well. It is great to see our elected officials taking such an active interest in our business and the construction industry.”
