The ConstructMyFuture.com Web site has won a Workforce Development award from the Construction Users Roundtable (CURT) in recognition of the Web site’s efforts to promote construction as a rewarding career choice.

The CURT award cited ConstructMyFuture.com and three other organizations “for extraordinary, exemplary and innovative recruitment, training and education programs, which encourage people to pursue careers in construction.”

CURT is an association of leading construction-related corporations in the United States and Canada and was formed to promote cost-effective construction methods. It is a continuation of the work of the Construction Committee of the Business Roundtable.

ConstructMyFuture.com is the joint effort of three construction industry trade associations — the AED Foundation (AEDF), Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) and Associated General Contractors of America (AGC).

The Web site provides students, teachers, counselors and parents with Internet-based resources on the benefits of and opportunities for careers in the construction industry, focusing on three major segments — manufacturing, distributing and constructing.

Features include a database of more than 1,600 construction-related secondary education programs in the United States and a database of industry companies willing to sponsor local career informational opportunities such as field trips, student internships and job fairs.

ConstructMyFuture.com also sponsors an annual scholarship program that advances construction-focused higher education, and the Web site provides information on other industry scholarships available.
