In 2000, Raleigh, NC-based Wilson-Finley Company, a direct importer of heavy equipment replacement parts, purchased DAW Pro-Track, located in Bellefonte, PA.

Located just south of State College, the Pennsylvania facility, which has since been identified by its original name, officially changed its logo to Wilson-Finley in mid-October, assuring that there is “no confusion in the marketplace,” said Jeff Wilson, sales manager.

Servicing Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Delaware, Maryland, Northern Virginia and West Virginia, the Bellefonte location continues to be an extension to Wilson-Finley operations. Going above importing and distributing, the facility offers a one-day by appointment track press service, replacement or turning of track pins and bushings, installation of complete undercarriages, re-shelling bottom rollers and machine fabrications. Paying full attention to service, the company also stocks re-built rollers and idlers and offers pick-up and delivery service.

Wilson-Finley was started by George W. Wilson and A.E. Finley in 1955 with a focus on rebuilding parts for heavy construction equipment. In 1959, the company imported its first Berco undercarriage parts. (Berco is an Italian manufacturer of undercarriages for crawler machines.) The manufacturer’s line still makes up 80 percent of the company’s business, and Wilson-Finley has remained a large distributor, as well as the first supplier, of Berco undercarriage parts in North America.

Wilson-Finley’s first branch location opened in 1962 in Richmond, VA, with another opening in Atlanta five years later. In 1975, the company established a location in Charlotte, NC, and by the mid-1980s a facility in Greensboro, NC. In 2000, Wilson-Finley acquired two companies, including Perritt Tractor in Waycross, GA, as well as DAW Pro-Track.

Wilson-Finley has brought a more diverse product range to DAW Pro Track. Offering more than 16,000 line items for loaders, dozers, excavators, backhoes and graders, Wilson-Finley carries a full line of ground-engaging products, which consist of blades, cutting edges and an assortment of bucket teeth, adapters, pins, locks and retainers. The company also carries grouser bars, a wide variety of track and plow bolts and nuts, frame parts, muffler parts, final drive components, engine, torque converter and transmission parts, pump groups, hydraulic components, and steering clutch parts.

“Wilson-Finley has been around so long, [the name change] is easier on everybody,” said Juls Kralik, branch operations manager of the Bellefonte facility. “It’s taking place at a good time.”

Instrumental to the success of the Pennsylvania facility is 20-year industry veteran Ron Chambers, who started with Wilson-Finley in late June of this year. “We have Ron out in the field doing inspections, obtaining quotes and working with the machines,” said Kralik. The Bellefonte office staffs seven employees in total.
