Amarillo Chamber of Commerce named Ditch Witch of West Texas the Jim Henson 2008 Small Business of the Year Sept. 30.

The award recognizes top Amarillo-based employers with fewer than 100 employees.

The company must be at least 5 years old.

Started in 1995, the chamber nominates businesses who then fill out an application.

Winners are chosen based on growth, customer service and community involvement.

Of the 43 applications the chamber received, it named six 2008 Small Business Award Winners, one of which was the Jim Henson winner.

Lenny Sadler, owner of Ditch Witch of West Texas, said his company’s success is based on service and great employees.

Independently-owned Ditch Witch dealerships are dedicated exclusively to Ditch Witch products and services.
