EESSCO Marks Fifth Year of Filling Void in New England

EESSCO (Equipment Erection Sales and Service Co.) is celebrating its fifth successful year as a company that helps businesses that work “between rocks and hard places.”

In the five short years in which EESSCO has been in business, it has established a reputation for its equipment expertise and service and offers crushing and processing equipment and parts for all aggregate and recycling equipment.

Before EESSCO entered the aggregate and recycling industry, consolidation among the aggregate industry suppliers left a void in the New England area.

Greg Grey and Dick Vining worked for the former Eastern Engineering, whose focus was primarily on supplying equipment to the northeast giant aggregate producers. After Eastern Engineering disappeared during major mergers of aggregate equipment suppliers, they founded EESSCO in 2001 along with Greg Donecker, president of Kemper Equipment.

Kemper Equipment, located in Honey Brook, Pa., has been serving the Pennsylvania aggregate industry for 25 years. The principles at Kemper identified the consolidation void in New England and formed the partnership with Grey and Vining who had many years of industry experience. Vining brought 35 years of experience in aggregate production equipment to EESSCO while Grey has spent 19 years serving the aggregate market with a large focus on aggregate equipment parts.

“Our relationship with Kemper Equipment has been crucial during our growth. From Kemper, we are able to receive the engineering resources and custom fabrication needed for the sale of turnkey aggregate plants,” said Vining.

In December of 2004 after three years of strong growth, the company moved to a larger facility. Currently EESSCO is located at 275 Centre St. in Holbrook, Mass. The move provided larger warehouse space for parts inventory.

Today, EESSCO serves a more diverse clientele, from single plant producers to aggregate industry giants. In addition, the company has developed product lines, parts and service programs specifically for the single plant owner.

“We have really expanded our expertise in locating and supplying all types of parts for the aggregate producer. In addition, we can offer a turnkey plant operation at a time when producer’s choices are very limited,” said Grey.

As the company has grown, so has its staff. Mike Southwell is the EESSCO sales representative for northern New England and New York State. Chuck Ploeger, who has a strong engineering background and expertise in bulk handling equipment, is the sales representative for southern New England while Kevin Kenney manages the Parts Department.

During its first five years in business, EESSCO has served many of the northeast’s aggregate producers.

“When we were a young company, we tended to keep our hands off the major producers. Now that we have demonstrated our staying power and customers have experienced tremendous results working with us, producers of all sizes count on EESSCO for superior equipment and service,” said Vining.

Grey went on to explain further, “Particularly in New England there has been a tremendous surge in the sale of portable crushing plants. Our focus is on stationary equipment where our expertise and reputation is strong.

“We really try to get inside the heads of our customers and really understand their needs and goals so that we can perfectly match the equipment necessary to satisfy their needs. It is our reputation for having a commitment to customer satisfaction that led the people at Kemper to pursue a partnership with us,” said Grey.

Both Grey and Vining agree that one of the keys to EESSCO’s growth during its first five years has been their relationship with their customers. They thank their customer base for their success and look forward to many more successful years serving the New England aggregate industry. CEG
