As part of its restructuring, Equipment Support Services (ESS) has announced three key personnel changes at Southern Power & Equipment based in Atlanta, GA.
Rich Dundon has recently been hired as general manager for Southern Power & Equipment. Dundon started as a territory salesman for Tri State Tractor in Georgia, and brings with him more than 30 years of experience in the construction machinery business. A graduate of The College of Santa Fe, Dundon did a tour with the U.S. Army in Vietnam before moving to the Atlanta area and starting his career in the machinery industry.
For the past 20 years, Dundon has been with Trax Inc. based in Atlanta, GA, where he has held various sales and management positions with the organization. “The opportunity afforded me by ESS to expand the sales and support business of Southern Power & Equipment is a challenge that I and the employees alike are looking forward to accomplishing. The sheer size of the Georgia market is indicative of our collective opportunity,” he said.
Charles Osborn III, founder and principal of Southern Power & Equipment in Georgia and Chattanooga, TN, has accepted the position of director of special operations. Osborn’s responsibilities will revolve around real estate acquisitions and construction for ESS and future rental service start-ups, OEM certification, development of governmental and key account strategies, CSI strategies, along with many other short and long term operational endeavors.
According to Osborn, “One of our major priorities is to grow our product support through opening of new facilities, expanding our resources, and adding personnel. Another top priority, which preliminary plans are already in the works, is to grow our rental business.”
Steve Totton has relocated from Future Equipment, a ESS division located in Dallas, TX. Totton will take on the position of machinery manager. He’ll be working closely with the sales force to locate machinery and keep them updated on all machine specs in order to help them with their sales efforts. Totton has a total of 18 years’ experience in the construction machinery industry.
Before transferring to Southern Power & Equipment, Totton spent the past four years with Future Equipment. “I’m happy to be here. My vision is to make Southern Power & Equipment the best in sales and customer service in the entire ESS family. My job is to help grow machinery sales and product support, and I’m looking forward to the challenges ahead of me to fulfill my vision for the company,” he said.
