Aronson & Company, a nationally-ranked top 50 accounting and consulting firm recently announced the results of its Mid-Atlantic Construction Industry Salary Survey (2002). A summary of the survey, with figures and statistics, is being offered complimentary as part of Aronson & Company’s continuing client service initiative.
Survey findings indicated new trends for the construction industry. Similar to many other industries in the slowing economy, salary increases slipped slightly in 2001, from 5 percent to 4.8 percent. Retirement plan benefits, however, have increased from 5.1 percent of base compensation to 8.9 percent, indicating companies’ recognition of the importance of planning for their employees’ futures.
Over the past decade, construction contractors identify attracting and obtaining quality employees as one of their greatest challenges. The salary survey is the most useful benchmarking tool for local construction companies in the Mid-Atlantic Region who want to guarantee that their employee salary and benefit packages are competitive and accurate. This survey has been sold for $125 per copy in the past, but this year Aronson & Company is providing the summary version at no cost to anybody who requests it. This survey is the only one of its kind in the D.C. Metro area, according to Aronson & Company.
