Fluor Corporation announced that it has been named America’s most admired engineering and construction company, based on a survey conducted for FORTUNE magazine’s annual listing.

Fluor ranked No. 1 overall in the engineering and construction category after being judged against eight criteria by executives, directors and security analysts within the industry.

Fluor was judged either No. 1 or 2 in all eight categories, earning first-place rankings for innovation, quality of products and services, and financial soundness.

Fluor was one of only five California companies to be ranked No. 1 within their respective industries. Sixty-four industry categories were evaluated.

“We are honored to have been selected as America’s most admired engineering and construction company,” said Alan Boeckmann, Fluor’s chairman and chief executive officer. “The acknowledgement shows that our reputation is widely respected — a reputation that has been built by the outstanding contributions of our employees.”

The “America’s Most Admired Companies” listings appeared in the magazine’s March 8, 2004, issue.

Fluor Corporation provides services on a global basis in the fields of engineering, procurement, construction, operations, maintenance and project management. Headquartered in Aliso Viejo, CA, Fluor is a FORTUNE 500 company with revenues of nearly $9 billion in 2003.
