Mike Doyle, president of George & Swede in Pavilion, N.Y., has announced a restructuring of management and ownership of the company.

Greg Newell, who has been with George & Swede since 1998, will now serve as vice president of sales. Mike Whalen, a veteran in the industry for over 20 years, is now vice president of product support. Mike Doyle will continue as president.

Doyle feels it is a strong move for George & Swede’s customers and suppliers. “We have now put a strong succession plan in place here at George & Swede, which will allow all parties that we do business with to have a positive and comfortable feeling about the future of George & Swede,” he said.

“Our manufacturers now know that we have made a long-term commitment to the growth of George & Swede and our customers know that equipment they purchase today will receive quality service for the long run.”

According to Doyle, Mike Whalen and Greg Newell have been key players in the growth of the company. “Now with an ownership position, they have re-dedicated themselves to the company’s future growth.”

Doyle said the growth curve has been strong for George & Swede. With 14 years as a Hyundai dealer, the company now serves one of the largest populations of Hyundai excavators in the nation.

The company’s service business has grown in direct proportion to sales, which Doyle attributes to its competitive shop rates. George & Swede’s service technicians will work on any make or model of dirt moving equipment.
