GeoShack Holds 2013 Topcon Technology Roadshow

Attendees got to see Next Level technology in action.

GeoShack, a technology leader in the construction, surveying, laser and machine control industries, held its 2013 Topcon Technology Roadshow on May 8 at the Ashland County Fairgrounds in Ashland, Ohio. The Roadshow presented information on the latest precise positioning technology in a classroom environment followed by outdoor demonstrations after lunch, which included opportunities for attendees to try out the equipment for themselves. GeoShack representatives were joined by Topcon Regional Sales Manager Ander Foor and Take-off Professionals’ Marco Cecala to discuss ways for contractors to maximize profit on the job site. The classroom sessions included information on sitelink3D, an advanced communications system for Topcon’s suite of 3D-MC grade control products, Topcon’s 2D and 3D machine control products, and GeoShack’s advantage services, providing total support solutions through onsite, phone and online support, as well as equipment loaners and professional training.

Demonstration stations included Topcon’s 3D-MC2 dozer system installed on a John Deere 750K dozer provided by Murphy Tractor & Equipment, Topcon’s PS Series of robotic total stations with layout, Topcon’s HiPer Rover System with Magnet Office software, HiPer V with pocket 3D, Topcon’s newest machine control system for hydraulic excavators -X-22, and Topcon lasers and receivers.

Surveyors at the event received Professional Development Hour credits for attending.

Mark Hash, branch manager, Murphy Tractor & Equipment Co. Inc., was able to provide insight into the competitive advantage integrated control provides customers.

Jason Welch, machine technology specialist, Murphy Tractor & Equipment Co. Inc., also was in attendance, to provide machine technology information.
