The Georgia Utility Contractors Association (GUCA) has been awarded the National Utility Contractors Association’s 2005 Chapter Award of Excellence in Annual Publications and an honorable mention in Periodical Publications.

Chapter Awards of Excellence are presented to NUCA chapters that support their members, the association, the industry and their communities with outstanding publications, services and events.

GUCA’s Membership Directory is an annual, stand- alone publication distributed to more than 1,000 industry professionals, including GUCA contractor and associate members, government agencies and associations. The 2005 issue provided expanded tab sections, including a NUCA tab, to make it a more user-friendly publication. The directory has proved to be a valuable resource for contractors seeking to establish relationships with subcontractors, equipment dealers and a wide variety of other vendors. Vendors have found it an excellent means of marketing their products and services.

The chapter’s monthly GUCA newsletter garnered an Honorable Mention in the Periodical Publications category. In addition to providing its readers with association and industry news, the publication serves as an advertising venue for members. Funded solely by advertising sales, the newsletter netted the association more than $12,000 in 2005.
