Georgia Utility Contractors Association Inc. (GUCA) held an area membership meeting at Curt’s Cafeteria in Flowery Branch, Ga., April 27.

More than 50 registrants attended the luncheon meeting and were treated to a free seminar discussing the Public Service Commission’s proposal for marking standards presented by Gary Mason.

Mason also spoke briefly about how contractors need to use violation reports on non-conformity of GUFPA. He also mentioned the upcoming Large Ticket Notification Request. Local locating personnel from STS were on hand to answer questions about locate problems.

GUCA members and guests also were updated on upcoming events, safety classes, industry issues, legislative issues and GUCA membership along with the benefits provided to GUCA members.

GUCA contractor members in attendance included: Alcon Associates Inc., Archer Western Contractors, Duncan Pipeline Inc., Merritt Contracting Inc., Paramont Grading Co., Rockdale Pipeline Inc., Sekiski-SPR Americas LLC, Specialized Forestry Solutions, Tayco Contractors Inc. and Western Summit Constructors Inc.

GUCA associate members in attendance included: American Cast Iron Pipe Company, Cherokee Petroleum Co. Inc., DOKA USA, City of Flowery Branch, City of Gainesville, Godwin Pumps of America Inc., Graham-Naylor Agency Inc., HD Supply Waterworks; Laser Products LLC, Oldcastle Precast East Inc., United Safety Associates Inc. and Utilities Protection Center.
