RMT Equipment has named Hifax Industrial Components its new VEI in-motion weighing systems dealer for the territory covering Indiana, Kentucky, western Ohio and West Virginia.

RMT specializes in weighing systems for wheel loaders, excavators, forklifts and conveyors. Additionally, RMT is the North American distributor of VEI in-motion weighing systems and SciTronics belt scales.

The company provides factory training for its dealer network in the United States and in Canada.

Bob Lefebvre and his son, Marc, established RMT Equipment in 1996 and the company is headquartered in Quebec, Canada.

The VEI system is an all-in-one loader scale monitor with a built-in printer. The system can weigh on the move with an accuracy of ± 1 percent, according to the manufacturer.

Steve Lerch, Hifax Industrial Components owner, said coal truck operators as well as other mining and quarry operations benefit by having accurate accounting of their loads. In areas such as West Virginia and Kentucky where truck weight is closely monitored, avoiding fines for weight violations alone quickly will pay for the system, he said.
