Highlighting its focus on customer support and satisfaction, Illinois Truck & Equipment (ITE) has recently opened its South location at 3253 Mathers Rd., Springfield, IL, near the intersection of IL 72 and State Route 4.

Situated on 6 acres (2.4 ha), the south location boasts three buildings that include a 2,800-sq.-ft. office building; a 3,800-sq.-ft. parts facility; and a 7,800-sq.-ft. service building.

Illinois Truck & Equipment was founded in 1989 by Rolf Helland, current president and general manager of ITE North, located in Morris, IL. The company has grown from one employee in 1989, to 37 employees today.

ITE was recognized in 2000 and 2001 by New Holland Construction as one of the Top Ten North Amercian dealers, having sold a record 194 units in 2001.

According to Helland, “We are fast becoming one of the largest construction equipment distributors in Central and Northern Illinois, due to our commitment to product support and customers satisfaction.”

Recently, ITE has hired Bill McGreevy to head up its south location as general manager. McGreevy is former president of another large midwestern Illinois-based equipment dealer.

McGreevy began getting the personnel and infrastructure in place for the new south location in June of 2002. This required the dual task of setting up that facility, while at the same time taking care of beginning a new customer base.

“Now as the calendar year end nears, the customer demand for rentals and sales of new and used equipment has exceeded our initial expectations,” McGreevy said. “These results to date are most likely a product of our business philosophy, experienced personnel, our products, prime location, and the fortune of good timing.”

The south location, which covers 48 counties in central Illinois, represents manufacturers such as New Holland Construction, Kobelco Excavators, Mantis Hydraulic Cranes, American Trailers, Interstate Trailers, Redi-Haul Trailers, Reynolds Scrapers, Rome Discs, Wacker, FFC, JRB, Werk-Brau, ACS, Sweepster, C&P Buckets, Bradco, McMillen, CF, Major, Woods and ATI.

Additionally, ITE has a full-service equipment rental facility with an impressive rental fleet to draw from of new and late model machines. From jackhammers to 40-ton (36.3 t) articulated off-road trucks to hydraulic cranes, ITE has it all.

The sales department for the south location includes Bill Prillaman, Don Wasilewski and Nathan Laatsch. The sales team, in addition to McGreevy, brings more than 90 years of experience in helping customers solve their equipment needs.

The service department, managed by Terry Bomke, is a clean, modern and well equipped facility. It is staffed with two mobile technicians and fully equipped service trucks for prompt response to customer requests.

The parts department, managed by Bill Bryant, has the ability to supply parts for all the company’s product lines in addition to Fiat Allis, Fleet Guard and many others. ITE specializes in Gates high pressure hydraulic hoses custom made on site for all makes, models and applications.
