Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo) and Allied Construction Products LLC (Allied) have entered into an agreement for the sale and support of Allied hydraulic breakers. The partnership was created to offer customers more options in breakers and other aftermarket attachments in North America, and results in the addition of 40 models to Volvo dealer product offerings, including the Allied flagship Rammer and Hy-Ram hydraulic breakers and Ho-Pac and Skid-Pac compactor/drivers.

Mid-range and large-range models – designed for carriers from 26,500 to 176,400 lbs.

Leo L. Matthews passed away on Sept. 4, 2016. Mr. Matthews served as president and CEO of Allied Construction Products LLC (formerly known as Allied Steel & Tractor Products Inc.) over two separate periods of time from 1976 through 1983 in Solon, Ohio, and most recently from 1993 through 2005 in Cleveland, Ohio.

The Allied Construction Products LLC board of members has announced the promotion of Phil Paranic to the position of president and CEO. Paranic recently served as executive vice president. Paranic’s experience includes more than 15 years with Allied administering corporate purchasing and wholesale pricing for all product lines, overseeing used equipment sales and managing sales operations for the eastern sales region.

Edward Jamieson has been in the scrap industry for decades. When the opportunity arose in 2003 to take over the site of a former demolition and recycling center in Walpole, Mass., Jamieson jumped at the opportunity. The company started off like so many other companies, as a very small, family-owned entity, doing everything they could to generate scrap metals.

Upstate New York’s heavy highway, excavation, demolition and aggregate producing contractors have long been the core customer base of Albany, N.Y.-based Contractors Sales. With that in mind, Contractors Sales has just added an LBX 350 series excavator equipped with the new Allied model MP 985R material processor.

As one of the largest construction jobs currently under way in the United States, the combined Louisville-Southern Indiana Ohio River Bridges projects are employing scores of contractors, each contributing their unique skills toward overcoming the many challenging aspects encountered on the job.

Looking ahead to a stronger 2014 in the construction industry, Allied Construction Services has recruited industry veteran Jody Arena to serve as its chief operating officer. With an improving economy, in Philadelphia commercial vacancy rates fell by 12.1 percent and construction increased 69.6 during third-quarter 2013; in the suburbs, vacancies were down 17 percent and construction rose a full 92.1 percent.

Carolina CAT held the Get in Get Real event at its Greensboro, N.C., facility on Thursday, May 9. The company had many Caterpillar and allied machines on hand for its 130 guests to look over. Cat also had several of its field service trucks on hand to highlight its service capabilities.

Allied Construction Products, LLC is celebrating its 70th year as a manufacturer and distributor of attachments and equipment. Allied, which began as a small steel business, has evolved as a leader in construction product technology. Allied designs, manufactures and distributes these specialty products primarily for the construction and mining industries and for other industries/applications where its products are readily adaptable.

Construction of the new Caterpillar plant in Athens, Ga., is well under way and Allied Paving Contractors Inc., Pendergrass, Ga., is on site for paving work. Allied is the same company that did the paving for the Caterpillar skidder plant expansion in LaGrange, Ga., approximately five years ago.
