Amazon.com Inc. is building another 850,000-sq.-ft. fulfillment center in the Houston area. Dallas-based Trammell Crow Co. is the developer for the project, which is being built on 93.5 acres at 10507 Harlem Rd., Richmond, in Fort Bend County, according to a press release.

NEW YORK (AP) — Amazon says it will not be building a new headquarters in New York, a stunning reversal after a yearlong search. The online retailer has faced opposition from some New York politicians, who were unhappy with the tax incentives Amazon was promised.

A $325 million fulfillment center being built by Amazon will have a dramatic impact on the city of Bessemer, Ala., when it opens in 2019. The online retail giant is constructing the 855,000-sq.-ft. building just outside of Birmingham, providing new opportunities to the community.

Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe recently announced that Amazon will invest more than $230 million to establish a new Operations Center of Excellence in downtown Nashville. As part of Amazon's investment, the company will create 5,000 high-paying jobs in Davidson County, representing the single largest jobs commitment made by a company in Tennessee's history.

Amazon has announced that it has selected New York City and Arlington, Va., as the locations for the company's new headquarters. Amazon will invest $5 billion and create more than 50,000 jobs across the two new headquarters locations, with more than 25,000 employees each in New York City and Arlington.

It's — just about — official: Amazon has chosen New York City and Northern Virginia as split locations for its second (and now third) headquarters. The Wall Street Journal reported the decision the night of Nov. 12, but Amazon will announce the news itself sometime Nov.

Nothing is yet set in stone, but experts believe all signs indicate that Amazon will split its second headquarters between Northern Virginia and New York City. Throughout the year, Amazon has been accepting bids and proposals from cities all over the country to choose a location for its second headquarters, "HQ2." The chosen location—or locations—will see a $5 billion investment from the company, along with about 50,000 jobs, Business Insider reported.

A tornado caused a portion of an Amazon warehouse in Baltimore to collapse the night of Nov. 2 , killing two people. Fire crews were called to the company's Fulfillment Center around 10:30 in the evening regarding a possible collapse. When they got to the scene, they found that a 50 ft.-by-50 ft.

Bessemer, Ala., inched closer to the world of e-commerce Oct. 2 as officials gathered to break ground on a new, 855,000-sq.-ft. Amazon fulfillment center. The planned facility, scheduled for completion in 2019, will employ 1,500 full-time workers. The total investment for the project is estimated at $325 million.

Amazon has become the first place consumers go to shop for almost anything. In its hometown of Seattle, the corporation has taken over 3.3 million sq. ft. on three city blocks to create an Amazon neighborhood for its 55,000 Seattle employees. Located in the Denny Regrade Triangle in downtown Seattle, the campus consists of three 37-story high-rise office towers, two mid-rise office buildings and a multipurpose meeting center in the shape of three glass domes.

Ben Hur Construction has partnered with Ideal Contracting on the new $150 million Amazon fulfillment center in Gaines Township near Grand Rapids, Mich. General contractor Ryan Construction Company subcontracted Ben Hur Construction for the structural steel fabrication and erection work on the project.
