Leica Geosystems has introduced the DISTO X3 and X4 distance meters for construction sites.
The new laser distance meters withstand drop tests from a height of 6.5 ft. (2 m), are dust- and water-protected (IP 65) and therefore suitable for rugged job site conditions.
Leica Geosystems, an industry leader of measurement technology, announced the Leica ScanStation P50 3D laser scanner as the newest member of the 3D terrestrial laser scanner P-Series. In collaboration with world-leading tiltrotator manufacturer Engcon, Leica Geosystems has developed iXE CoPilot, an auto-tilt function. In combination with a 2D or 3D excavator guidance system, Engcon's control system DC2 and ePS (engcon Positioning System) will then Engcon's tiltrotators get a revolutionary feature that the tilt function on the tiltrotator is handled automatically.
“The new MSS400 Series Sensors are so responsive that I receive almost instantaneous updates on the panel. This means that I can use my excavator to fine grade much faster. The sensors are very fast even when I dig 4 to 5 meters down,” said Michael Madsen, excavator operator from Entreprenørfirmaet Ollerup in Denmark.

Personnel and machines on the job site need to share the same data and stay in sync with changes, so work can be carried out effectively, on time and budget.
Brooks Tractor, a Wisconsin-area construction equipment dealer, announced its newest 35,000-sq.-ft. branch in Mount Pleasant, Wis. The location, which features a 30,000-sq.-ft. main building and a 5,000-sq.-ft. parts storage building, is situated on 10 acres near interstate I-41/I-94 for convenient access.
