Lift & Move USA

More than 350 students from Clark County School District visited the Workforce Solutions area at ConExpo-Con/AGG on March 12 in Las Vegas. Lift & Move USA featured an interactive presentation about the role of crane, rigging, and specialized transportation operations in the construction of Allegiant Stadium, new home of the NFL's Las Vegas Raiders.

Lift & Move USA, featuring career paths for specialized transportation, crane, rigging and machinery moving operations, is coming to Texas this fall. "Lift & Move USA engages students and educators in learning about the skills needed and careers available in this highly technical field, serving construction, manufacturing, power gen, petro-chem, highway and related industries," said Tracy Bennett, director of Lift & Move USA.

Response from teachers following the Lift & Move USA event hosted by NessCampbell Crane + Rigging on Oct. 11 in Portland, Ore., was extremely positive. Lift & Move USA is an industry-led program to promote careers in the crane, rigging and specialized transportation sectors.

Deep South Crane & Rigging and Berard will co-host a one-day careers event for students and veterans on Nov. 15 in Baton Rouge, La., as part of a national careers initiative through Lift & Move USA. The event will be the first in Louisiana and up to 400 students are expected to attend from local high schools and colleges.

The Lift & Move USA program will promote careers in the crane, rigging and specialized transport industry to thousands of students and teachers at SkillsUSA's annual conference in Louisville, Ky., on June 19 to 23. An estimated 7,000 students and 5,000 teachers will attend the organization's annual National Leadership and Skills Conference in Louisville, providing an ideal opportunity for Lift & Move USA to promote the industry and its program of events.

Lift & Move USA aims to inspire and educate the next generation of drivers, mechanics, welders, crane operators, safety specialists, CAD design engineers and riggers (ironworkers). As many as 2,000 students and veterans have already benefitted from the program and the LGH event in May promises to be one of the largest yet.

The first of four Lift & Move USA career events in 2017 will be held February 14 in Tampa, FL, hosted by ALL Crane, part of the ALL Family of Companies. The event will see as many as 450 young people from local schools and colleges converge on ALL Crane's Tampa facility to learn first-hand about careers in the crane, rigging and specialized transport industry and to see heavy equipment at close quarters.
