Sealevel Construction of Thibodaux, La., the company that has been awarded two major contracts for the state's Bayou Chene Flood Control Project, has now earned a National Excellence in Construction (EIC) award for its Falgout Canal Flood Control Structure in Dularge.

Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards announced May 26 that the state's Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has selected Boh Bros. Construction Company to build three new bridges as part of the Comite River Diversion Canal Project in East Baton Rouge Parish.

In the wake of a train derailment on April 24, repair crews in Shreveport, La., have been standing by to fix and strengthen a key vehicle overpass damaged during the accident. The affected bridge carries traffic along northbound Louisiana Route 1, also known as Spring Street.

Road construction crews are hard at work across the state of Louisiana on several projects to improve Interstate 10, one of the South's busiest vehicle and freight corridors.
