The Midland Model SPD-8 road widener is designed to place shoulder materials out 8 ft. (2.4 m) wide next to main line pavements. The SPD-8 has been up-graded to accept the John Deere Tier IV version of the 4.5 L engine and controls allow conveyor belt speed and on/off and spreader blade functions from the operator’s control panel.

Blanchard Machinery, a machine sales, service and parts provider in South Carolina, expanded its territory for sales and service of New Holland agricultural equipment. The company recently acquired the New Holland territory previously served by Fairfield Tractor Company, and will offer access to increased service capabilities, support resources and complementary equipment at its Columbia branch on Buckner Road.

The Midland Model SPD-6 road widener is designed to offer both right and left conveyor belt discharge as standard equipment. The SPD-6 has a 66 hp (49.2 kW) turbo diesel engine and a transport width of 10 ft. (3 m) wide. It is a larger version of the popular but smaller Midland SPR-6 unit right hand only discharge unit used by contractors and municipal road agencies needing a transport width of 8 ft.

Pro Petro Services, in Midland, Texas, found it saved as much as five to six working days per well by mixing up its fleet — using a smaller rig to drill the pre-sets and then a larger rig to finish the work. Oil and gas wells are drilled in segments, each requiring different rig capacities.
