JCB has been awarded a contract to supply the U.S. military with a fleet of specialized high speed excavators over the next eight years in a deal worth up to $269 million. The deal centers on the supply of High Mobility Engineer Excavators (HMEEs) for the U.S.

To better serve customers, as well as enhance its capability to support military and government contracts, Mack Defense has relocated its headquarters to the Mack Customer Center (MCC) located in Allentown, Pa. The move, which was recently completed, also provides Mack Defense additional working space and access to other MCC amenities.

The Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) has awarded a $180 million contract to replace the 64-year-old runway at Little Rock Air Force Base in Arkansas. The project is being carried out as a collaboration between the AFCEC, the base, the Air Force Installation Contracting Center and the Air Force Installation Mission Support Center (AFIMSC) Detachment 9.

Mack Defense has selected Hutchinson Industries Inc. as the provider of complete wheel assemblies, beadlocks and thermal hub covers for the Mack Defense M917A3 heavy dump truck (HDT). "Wheeled military vehicles like the M917A3 require specialized protection to help maintain mobility in harsh operating environments," said David Hartzell, president, Mack Defense.

On Veterans Day 2019, JCB North America launched its new Veterans Club to recognize and support JCB employees who have served, or who currently serve, in the armed forces. Kubota Tractor Corporation announced five new farmer veteran tractor recipients as part of its 2019 "Geared to Give" program in partnership with the Farmer Veteran Coalition (FVC). For the second year, Kubota honored five veterans, adding a fifth veteran last year to represent its newly-created Midwest operating division.

In Phoenix, work is underway on a new school bearing the name of one of the nation's most revered American heroes. Pat Tillman Middle School will include a nearly 70,000 sq.-ft. building with 42 new classrooms, administrative offices, STEM learning flex space and two new laboratories.

A new $135M consolidated California Military Department complex is being built in Rancho Cordova, Calif., for all branches of the department. The 285,000-sq.-ft,. multi-building campus will be home to all of the California Military Department's "four pillars": the California Army National Guard, California Air National Guard, California State Military Reserve and California Youth and Community Programs.
