A fire has engulfed a luxury apartment building under construction in suburban Yonkers, New York. WNBC (http://bit.ly/2pPfbSp ) video shows huge orange flames shooting through the building's three stories and roof on Thursday. The thick, dark smoke was visible from miles away.

Despite dealing with an extremely complicated site, construction crews in Johnston, R.I., are making significant progress on a new corporate campus for Citizens Financial Group Inc. The project, with a reported cost of $250 to $300 million, will provide room for more than 3,000 colleagues, and offer a number of services for those who move to the new location.

A portion of track that caused a derailment at Penn Station, creating major delays for commuters at the nation's busiest rail hub, was identified as a potential problem in an earlier inspection but wasn't thought to pose an imminent risk, Amtrak's CEO said Thursday.

When riders on the D.C.-area's Yellow Line subway come above ground for a track section that takes them over the Potomac River, they can now see CSX freight trains with cargo containers stacked two high on a heavy rail bridge nearby that also carries Amtrak and commuter trains.

Bulfinch Crossing will feature six buildings, including the 1.1 million-square-foot One Congress office high-rise, as well as the tallest apartment tower in the city. Construction has gotten underway on Bulfinch Crossing, a 2.9 million-square-foot mixed-use project in Boston.

The Massachusetts Girls in Trades will hold a Construction Trades Career Fair for Women on Wednesday, Feb. 8, at the Wynn Boston Harbor Construction Office, 3 Charlton St., Everett from 2-4 p.m. Admission and parking are free. Light refreshments will be served.

After four years of working with the Northeast states, federal and state partner agencies and dozens and dozens of public meetings, the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) recommended a vision to build a better and stronger Northeast Corridor (NEC) over the next 30 years.
