The Toro Company announced today that it has acquired light construction and hardscape product assets of Stone Construction Equipment, Inc., which manufactured concrete and hardscape equipment for rental and construction companies. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Stone Construction Equipment Inc. has introduced the locking leg for its Right Built Champion and Buddy by Stone mortar mixers. The locking leg attaches to the mixer’s axle in place of the tire and helps to deter vandalism and theft. The leg is ideal for rental houses that want to assure the return of their inventory of Stone mixers.

Stone Construction Equipment Inc. has added a new backpack model to its Right Built Concrete Vibrator line. The new vibrator model features a 2.5 hp (1.8 kW). Honda engine and weighs just 24 lbs. (10.8 kg). Made of a lightweight steel frame and extra-thick padding for more operator comfort, the backpack vibrator is controlled by a rotary throttle, which consistently delivers the proper vibrations per minute for optimum concrete consolidation.

Lynne Woodworth, president and CEO of Stone Construction Equipment Inc., has been named a vice-chairman for the Construction Sector of the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM). As AEM sector vice-chairman, Woodworth serves as the designated advocate to the AEM board of directors for the construction-equipment related members.

Size matters when it comes to compaction power and performance. Stone Construction Equipment Inc. offers power and performance in the Rhino 66X vibratory dirt roller. This ride-on 66-in. (167 cm) roller joins the 43- and 54-in. (109 and 137 cm) models currently in the Rhino line.

Stone Construction Equipment Inc. has introduced an all new 47-in. wide, double-drum drive, double-drum vibration asphalt roller — the WolfPac 6100. The roller offers the professional features requested in a road roller, yet is ideal for confined area asphalt compaction of base, binder and finish coats.

Stone Construction Equipment Inc. has added a lighter-weight 36-in. (91 cm) model to its Smooth Operator Power Trowel line. The trowel, model CF36L, weighing 23 lbs. (10 kg) less than the standard 36-in. CF364, is practical for basement work because its lighter weight makes it easier to carry down stairs.

Stone Construction Equipment Inc. recently acquired commercial property located adjacent to its Honeoye, NY, manufacturing facility. The 9.65-acre acquisition will allow for future plant and office expansions. According to President and CEO, Lynne Woodworth, “This additional property, contiguous to our existing 150,000 square foot manufacturing facility, 11,000 square foot office complex and a 7,200 square foot research and development facility, secures the future for continued growth and expansion.”The company also owns and operates a 23.4-acre proving grounds and testing site nearby.

Stone Construction Equipment Inc. has been recognized as the winner of The Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award by the New York State Psychological Association. The specific award is the For Profit Small Company category. It recognizes companies who create programs and maintain an environment that promotes a psychologically healthy workplace.

Jon Hudson, regional manager of Stone Construction Equipment Inc., has announced the appointment of Kim Symons of Las Vegas as district manager. Symons, formerly with Multiquip, a light equipment distributor, will serve the needs of equipment dealers and rental houses in California, Nevada and Arizona.
