In response to sustained demand for personal protective equipment (PPE) as a result of COVID-19, Mack Trucks donated approximately 500 pieces of PPE that it manufactured at its Lehigh Valley Operations (LVO) plant in Macungie, Pa. "The Mack team is committed to doing what we can to help the communities in which we live and work, and I'm very proud of our LVO employees for stepping up to produce PPE during the coronavirus pandemic," said Rickard Lundberg, vice president and general manager at LVO.

Quality Fleet Service, Inc. , based in South Hadley, Mass., has joined the Bell Trucks America team. The company was in search of an articulated truck line to round out its heavy construction equipment offerings and Bell was a perfect match, according to Nicholas Moynihan, president of Quality Fleet Service.

New updates to the federal "hours of service" rule will speed up construction of transportation improvement projects while maintaining road safety, according to the American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA). On April 28, Mack Trucks launched free 90-day access to eLearning courses for high school and secondary technical education students interested in becoming a diesel technician, but who cannot attend in-person hands-on training because of the COVID-19 situation.

Mack Defense has been awarded an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract from the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) to supply the full range of Mack-branded products to federal agencies for a variety of applications. The one-year contract, which runs to January 2021, includes two additional GSA-optioned one-year extensions, which could push the contract through 2022.

The Kenworth T880S with set-forward front axle has added a new fixed grille option. A radiator-mounted grille is now available for the T880S equipped with the 114-in. BBC short hood. The new option allows the hood to be opened in applications where equipment is mounted to the front of the T880S.
