JB Attachments Limited, a New Zealand-based innovator of earthmoving attachments, and Woods Equipment Company, a North American leader in the design and manufacturing of construction and agricultural attachments and implements, announced the formation of a strategic partnership Jan. 16.
Under the terms of the agreement, Woods will market and distribute JBA’s variable center coupler through its U.S. and Canadian dealer network. The product line fits machine classes from 2.2 to 50 tons (2 to 45 t) and will be co-branded “Woods Variable Coupler by JB Attachments.”
“JB is a pioneer in quick coupler systems,” said Jerry Johnson, president of Woods products division. “Their ingenuity and quality are perfectly aligned with the products we currently offer the construction market under our Wain-Roy, CF and Gannon brands.”
According to Graham Smolenski, chairman of JB Attachments, “It is an ideal partnership. Woods has the technical expertise and an attitude to quality customer service and support that complements JBA’s endeavor to produce user friendly, state of the art earth moving equipment. I believe that the combination of these attributes will enable the variable center coupler to achieve the same market leader status in the U.S. as has been done in Australasia.”
This new line of variable couplers available from Woods fits 10 machine classes and is valued for the versatility of its universal design. The coupler’s low profile and lightweight design increase breakout force while reducing fuel consumption, and with only two moving parts, maintenance and opportunities for failure are both reduced, according to the manufacturer.
The product incorporates several safety features, is built to ISO9001 standards, and tested to twice the capability requirements. The complete line will be available in March, through Woods dealer network.
