The officers for the 2002 board of directors of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Delaware have announced the election of John W. Walker Jr., of J. W. Walker & Sons, as president.
He is the second generation of Walkers to serve on the ABC Delaware board. His father, John Sr. was an ABC board member in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
“I’m looking forward to another great year for ABC Delaware,” said Walker. “My goals for the organization include more communication to the members on what ABC is doing for them, recruiting new members to keep our organization flourishing and keeping active legislatively as we continue to educate people about the merit shop philosophy and fight for free enterprise.”
Walker was elected to the ABC Delaware board in 1998, and last year served as first vice president.
In addition to his personal goals for the organization over the next year, Walker plans to keep the momentum of past presidents going as he promotes ABC as the construction leader in Delaware.
Other officers for 2002 include:
Robert L. Suppe of RC Fabricators, first vice president;
Richard H. Treml of Delcard Associates, second vice president;
John McAveney of Mainline Masonry, secretary;
Donald Logan, Tighe Cottrell & Logan, treasurer; and
Steven G. Dignan, Paul A. Nickle, immediate past president.
Directors for 2002 include:
Daniel N. Delcollo, Delcollo Electric;
David A. Gordon, Metroform Electric;
Kevin L. Pritchett of Hopkins Construction; and
William B. Robinson Jr. of George & Lynch.
“As we begin the new year, I want to thank these men for agreeing to serve this organization in a leadership capacity,” said ABC Executive Director Ed Capodanno. “This is a membership organization and members volunteering their time is what it’s all about.”
