Ken Ritchie, Oldest of Three Ritchie Bros. Founders, Dies at Age 76

Ken Ritchie, the oldest of three Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers founders, died July 16, 2004, in Kelowna, British Columbia.

Born Oct. 29, 1927, in Kelowna, Ritchie was known for his warmth and high standard of integrity. Those qualities continue today in his family, many friends and the staff of the global company he helped grow.

Ritchie was predeceased by his parents Ruby (1971), and Rae (1972), and by his brother Bill. Ken is survived by Lyn, his wife of 49 years; his siblings Ellie Black, John, Margaret Nicholson, David; by his children Mike, Bruce, Jo-Anne, and Doug; and by his grandchildren William, Jillian, Spencer Dean, Mark and Beth Ritchie.

He loved his family, golf, fishing and bridge.
