Kern & Tabery Inc. President Passes Away in His Wadena Home

Franklin Kern passed away at his home in rural Wadena, Minn. The Mass of Christian Burial was held March 7, 2008, at St. Hubert’s Catholic Church in Bluegrass.

Kern was born in 1934 in Leaf River Township, Minn., and married Marjorie Damm on May 13, 1961. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. As a life-long member of the community he was involved with the Knights of Columbus, the Holy Name Society and the Wadena Elks Lodge.

Kern was president of Kern & Tabery Inc., a highway contractor and long time member of the AGC. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming and spending time with friends and family.

Kern is survived by his wife, Marjorie; sons Bradley, Steven, and Dwight; daughters Pamela, Brenda, and Lisa, and six grandchildren.
