The team at Landscape Renovations, a design and installation company in Afton, Minn., was searching for a new machine that would fit its needs. The machine had to be able to fit into a confined, fenced-in area. It had to have low ground pressure, but be able to carry pallets of landscape blocks, trees and shrubs. It also needed to be able to level and grade areas.

Other items on the wishlist included lifting large boulders, bundled trees and the ability to load delivery trucks. It also needed to be able to telescope out to load material onto dump trucks.

Tri-State Bobcat of Little Canada, Minn., had just the products: the Toro Dingo TX 1000 or the Toro Dingo TXL 2000. Tri-State helped Landscape Renovations decide which would be a better fit and which attachments would be most beneficial.

When the machines were delivered by Tri-State, Octavio Palomino put them to the test. His first task was to move a tree bundle, which came easy with the TXL 2000 — rated up to 2,000 lbs.

"With a standard skid steer or track machine, we needed a spotter to assist the operator and prevent the machine hitting something or someone," said Palomino. "The Toro TXL 2000 has the lifting capacity of a skid steer, but with 360-degree awareness and the ability to step off the machine to adjust loads. It eliminates the need for a second person. Its versatility is fantastic."

As Palomino moves the tree bundle to prepare for loading onto a delivery truck, the ground low pressure and track configuration allowed the machine to be used in wet areas without tearing up the nursery, which is watered daily.

"The controls were very intuitive. Just follow the pictures on the controls," said Palomino.

Other features of the Toro Dingo TXL 2000 include the exclusive telescoping arm design, which increases machine versatility and gives it the ability to reach farther and dig below grade without moving. A 123-in. telescoped hinge pin height, allows the machine to easily clear the side of a standard dump truck. The exclusive traction control design is easy to use for operators of all skills levels. The loader arm joystick has telescoping function, proportional auxiliary control and directional left/right control for applicable attachments.

Toro also offers an assortment of attachments for the Toro Dingo TXL 2000, available through Tri-State Bobcat. These include both standard and high-volume buckets; pallet forks; brush cutter; power rake; tiller; grapple and more.

"The ease of maintenance also is a big plus," said Scott Frampton, general manager of Landscape Renovations.

He said the company is happy with their choice of the Toro Dingo TXL 2000 and have been using it every day since it was delivered.
