Liebherr Construction Equipment Co. has announced the winner of its 35th Anniversary Stars and Stripes promotion. On Monday, Jan. 9, John Dutzer, manager of KPMG LLC, in Norfolk, VA, picked the name of Brian Smith of Tools 4 Hire in Boston, MA.

Entries were earned upon the retail sale of each new Liebherr machine by any registered sales representative of an independent Liebherr dealer.

On hand to witness the event were Duane Wilder, president, Cheri Cooke, executive vice president and Tim Doucette, marketing manager of Liebherr Construction Equipment.

Liebherr coordinated with Tools 4 Hire to have Smith on hand in San Diego, CA, where he was surprised with the keys to his new custom painted Fat Boy Harley Davidson .

Wilder said, “I want to thank Toby Mack and the AED staff for their cooperation and assistance in making our 35th Anniversary Stars and Stripes Harley a fitting tribute to our AED dealer members to whom we owe a great gratitude.

“We remain firmly committed to expanding partnerships with the quality independent dealers that AED stands for as we continue to grow our presence in America.

“I would also like to recognize those AED dealer sales representatives that while not leaving with a Harley are all winners in our eyes. Thanks to each of you for your outstanding efforts in 2005 as we celebrated 35 Years of Innovation in America.”

Liebherr established its first American company in 1970 and has successfully grown in the market by providing equipment that meets the most demanding requirements of the American Contractor.

In 2005, Liebherr launched the celebration of its 35th Anniversary in America with a year long “Stars and Stripes” promotion designed to thank Liebherr dealers and sales representatives who market the Liebherr brand.

Liebherr commissioned an artist from Austria to custom paint both a 15th Anniversary Harley Davidson Fat Boy motorcycle and an L580 wheel loader with a red, white and blue, Stars and Stripes design.

The Stars and Stripes promotion recognizes the sales representatives of Liebherr independent dealers who sold Liebherr construction equipment during 2005. For each machine sold, their name was entered into a drawing to win the Harley Davidson.

Throughout the year, the one of a kind Harley and wheel loader have toured various construction equipment shows and dealer events throughout America.
