BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) Preliminary construction on LSU’s new business education complex is under way.

The business complex had an official groundbreaking ceremony March 19.

Emmett David, LSU’s facility development director, told The Advocate that the university will soon advertise for bids for the new LSU Band Hall and the new Choppin Annex chemistry and materials science building.

David said the band and science building projects should begin construction by mid-June.

He said these projects are being paid through a combination of private fundraising, self-generated revenue and previously allocated state funds.
