Marvin H. Adams, 84, Rockton, Ill., died on April 19, 2014 at Premier Rehab in Beloit, Wis.

A hard working man, he owned and operated M. Adams Equipment Co. since 1957. The Rockford, Ill., company remains active in domestic and international sales of new and used construction equipment, trucks and trailers. Business will continue under the leadership of President William J. Rollinger Sr. and Vice President Fredrick M. Adams.

Mr. Adams had a long history in the construction equipment field; he also owned and operated Marv Adams Equipment, Durand Ford Sales, Adams Jeep and Camper Sales, Adams Auction Service, Rockford Contractors Equipment, Durable Concrete Forms and Duraform Corp.

He was born Jan. 1, 1930 in Chicago, Ill., as the ninth of ten children born to Dan V. and Ella (Gauger) Adams. He married Theresa Husi in Rockford, Ill.

Mr. Adams was a kind and generous man. He enjoyed racing hotrods, jeeps, motorcycles and boats. He most recently enjoyed being a gentleman farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Theresa Adams; daughters, Judith (Edward) Adams Sachs and Gayle (Terry) Peterson; sons, Fredrick Adams and Jeffrey (Amy) Adams; daughter-in-law, Linda D. Adams; grandchildren, Jason, Matthew, Chad and Neil Adams, Dohn Peterson and Michelle (Andrew) McConnell; great grandson, Just Adams; brother, Daniel (Mildred) Adams; sister, Carol (Richard) Karch and many nieces and nephews.
