Mack Trucks recently released the fourth episode of its RoadLife 2.0 series featuring TransLand Trucking, a truckload and logistics services provider based in Springfield, Mo. The episode highlights TransLand's humble beginnings, which have given rise to a premier trucking company focused on treating its employees like family and giving back to the community with help from the Mack Anthem. The episode is available on roadlife.tv.

"As with many of Mack's customers, family is what helped found TransLand in the beginning, and it continues to be a driving force in their business success today," said John Walsh, Mack Trucks vice president of marketing. "We're proud to be an extension of their family with the Mack Anthem model."

TransLand strives to exceed customer, employee and community expectations with best-in-class service. Glen and Anna Walker started the company in 1982 out of an office in a motel room along old Route 66 with just a single truck and three employees. Today, their son Mark oversees the company's 230 employees who support a fleet of 170 trucks operating in all 48 contiguous states.

An important aspect of TransLand's business is sharing its success with the community through the donation of time, talents and financial support. TransLand designates certain trucks as community trucks, which raise money for every mile they travel delivering goods to customers. One of its most recent efforts supports Care to Learn, an organization that addresses critical food, hygiene and clothing needs for students who otherwise might not be able to be successful in school.

"This notion of neighbor helping neighbor is important to all of our employees," said Mark Walker, CEO of TransLand. "My parents set a good example for us over the years supporting causes they cared about, so that beautiful green Care to Learn Mack Anthem is an extension of who we are as a company."

Driver recruitment and retention are critical in today's trucking industry, and TransLand's Mack Anthem models have helped grab drivers' attention.

"Mack has been nice for the retention of drivers, as well as for the recruitment of drivers," said Brian Baremore, vice president of operations, TransLand. "When we first started getting the Anthems here, we'd put one out by the road and get all kinds of people calling to ask ‘how can I drive that truck?'"

Additional RoadLife 2.0 episodes will premiere throughout the summer and into the fall. Viewers can watch RoadLife episodes on roadlife.tv and Amazon Prime Video, with additional content featured on Mack Trucks' social channels: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.
