To help support the Concrete Industry Management's (CIM) educational programs, Mack Trucks donated a 2016 Mack Granite Axle Forward model to the 12th annual CIM Auction conducted during World of Concrete 2017. All auction proceeds will go toward the development and support of CIM's educational program.

The Granite model will be the signature bid item during the live auction portion of the event. The Granite features an 11 cubic-yard Bridgemaster concrete transit mixer donated by McNeilus.

“Mack is proud to do our part to help support the concrete industry and future professionals interested in a career in this highly technical and competitive segment of the market,” said Tim Wrinkle, Mack construction product manager. “As a market leader in construction, Mack recognizes the value of CIM's programs, and we are pleased to once again donate a Mack Granite to the auction.”

The four-year CIM program is designed to equip students with the enhanced technical, communication and management skills needed to succeed in the concrete industry of the 21st century. The program is offered at Middle Tennessee State University, the New Jersey Institute of Technology, California State University – Chico and Texas State University.

“We appreciate the consistent support from Mack Trucks and McNeilus Company as they once again offer significant donations to the CIM Auction,” said Michael Phillips, CIM Auction committee chairman. “The truck and mixer will help ensure a successful CIM Auction, and exemplifies Mack's and McNeilus's commitment to the concrete industry.”

The donated Mack Granite model is equipped with a Mack MP7 engine delivering 365 horsepower and is built on the Mack Cornerstone chassis. Mack's ClearTech™ exhaust aftertreatment system and Mack front and rear axles are featured on the Mack Granite, as well as Mack GuardDog Connect, a telematics solution that helps maximizes uptime by proactively monitoring diagnostic codes that could shut a truck down.

When GuardDog Connect detects a potential issue, it automatically notifies Mack OneCall agents at the 24/7 Mack Uptime Center, as well as the driver and designated fleet contact. Parts and service bay availability at the nearest dealer location are confirmed and detailed repair instructions are sent, all while the truck is still on the road.

“We thank Mack Trucks and McNeilus for once again stepping up to the plate in their support of CIM,” said Michael Philipps, CIM Auction Committee chairman. “As the feature item, the donated truck chassis and mixer will go a long way to help ensure a successful auction and enable us to continue to develop our educational efforts.”

Members of the concrete industry generously donated over 150 items last year for both the silent and live auctions, raising more than $800,000 for CIM. Mack has participated in the CIM Auction with a truck donation for several years, most recently in 2016.
