LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A Little Rock police spokeswoman says a construction worker had lost his footing before he fell more than 10 feet while working on a steel building frame in downtown Little Rock.

Police spokeswoman Sgt. Cassandra Davis says construction workers reported hearing a thud and finding 29-year-old Erik Rivera Pontilla, a Kinco Constructors employee, on the ground Tuesday. He had been working on the second level of the structure.

Pontilla was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Davis says investigators do not suspect foul play in Pontilla’s death.

Kinco Constructors Vice President Keith Jacks said the company suspended work at the site after Pontilla’s death. He says the site likely will remain closed on Wednesday.
