Keystone Chapter, Associated Builders & Contractors Inc. (Keystone ABC), has announced that B.R. Kreider & Son Inc., Manheim, PA, was awarded the designation of Accredited Quality Contractor (AQC) for its commitment to excellence in safety, training, employee benefits and community service. The award was presented to Terry Sholansky, director of safety, during the association’s monthly meeting on April 20, 2005, at the Four Points Sheraton in Harrisburg.

ABC launched the AGC program in 1993 to show the public that these companies are good corporate citizens with policies and programs that are conducive to treating employees as valued assets. Only 3 percent of ABC members in the United States will earn this accreditation, which acknowledges a company that meets the exacting criteria set forth by ABC. Contractors that qualify as Accredited Quality Contractors are accredited for one year.

Ken Kreider, president of B.R. Kreider & Son Inc. said, “B.R. Kreider & Son Inc., is honored to receive this distinction and join this prestigious group of ABC members. Our company is dedicated to the communities where we operate, and the safety and well being of our employees.”

Currently, 18 Keystone ABC members have the AQC distinction. Jack Zimmer, ABC Keystone president and CEO said, “The association is proud to present B.R. Kreider & Son Inc., with this honor as they represent the free-enterprise system and construction industry in a manner to be emulated.”

B.R. Kreider & Son Inc., founded in 1936, provides the following services:

• site management,

• commercial and residential paving,

• specialized pavement texturing called StreetPrint for residential and commercial applications,

• crushing and recycling material at job sites,

• residential builder development,

• pond installation and repair,

• athletic fields, and

Also, state inspections, emissions inspections and repairs of automobiles are available through its Pin Oak Sales and Service Division.
